Users simply provide the path or link to local code repositories, API documentation, operation manuals, PDFs, or online webpages; the agent automatically uses existing tools to fetch and clean the content, then generates a corresponding SKILL.md skill configuration file according to the open standard at agentskills.io. The new feature supports multiple runtime terminals and user interfaces. In addition to running on command-line interfaces (CLI), terminal user interfaces (TUI), and messaging gateways, the Hermes Agent web dashboard has also added a “Learn a skill” button on its skills page. After clicking the button, users can enter a directory path, webpage URL, or free-text description in the pop-up panel, and the system will automatically generate and execute the /learn command in the chat window. Technically, the skill learning process is entirely built on prompt engineering and incurs no additional model-tool footprint.
