Google Search now features an AI-powered app builder and task automation, announced at Google I/O 2026. The update includes the Gemini 3.5 Flash model and the Antigravity framework for real-time coding and custom mini-apps. AI Mode is now available globally, with premium features launching in the U.S. this summer. The integration of AI with crypto news and real-world assets (RWA) news could unlock new use cases for blockchain and AI-driven crypto news.

According to Beating Monitor, search engines are evolving from one-way web link directories into intelligent agent workshops capable of writing code and executing tasks in real time. At the Google I/O conference on May 19, 2026, Google officially announced a major evolution of Search: the AI Mode, which reached 1 billion monthly active users within a year of launch, will be automatically upgraded free of charge to the Gemini 3.5 Flash model and will for the first time integrate the Antigravity programming framework, enabling users to generate code directly within the search bar and instantly create customized mini-apps and simulation tools based on their needs. The most groundbreaking advancement of this update lies in “Real-Time Programming and Generative UI.” When users search for complex concepts or tasks requiring long-term tracking, Search no longer merely provides text-based answers—it writes code in the background and dynamically renders interactive components, such as animated gear simulations or interactive data visualizations. For recurring, long-term search tasks like wedding planning, moving progress tracking, or fitness check-ins, Search can now autonomously write code from scratch and package a personalized mini-app or dedicated dashboard. This app will automatically pull data from APIs such as Google Maps, real-time weather, and local reviews, allowing users to save it for ongoing use. The search bar itself has undergone its most significant upgrade in 25 years: it now supports multimodal input combining text, images, videos, files, and Chrome tabs, along with intelligent AI-powered suggestion prompts. Additionally, Search has officially entered the agent era. The “Information Agent” continuously scans the web in the cloud 24/7 and immediately notifies users when conditions are met—such as properties matching budget and school district criteria or the release of specific sneakers. The “Booking Agent” can seamlessly book complex local services with a single click. Even more transformative: in the U.S., users can directly ask Google to “call a business on your behalf” to book beauty or housekeeping services. The default upgrade to Gemini 3.5 Flash for AI Mode is now available globally. The “Information Agent” and “Build-a-Mini-App-on-the-Spot” features will launch this summer exclusively for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in the U.S. The “Call on Your Behalf” and “One-Click Booking” functions will also roll out nationwide in the U.S. this summer.
