In accordance with Forklog, Google is planning to increase its AI computing power by 1,000 times over the next 4–5 years, according to a presentation by Google Cloud Vice President Amin Vahdat. To meet the growing demand for AI technologies, the company must double its computing capacity every six months. Google aims to achieve this through more efficient models, custom chips, and the latest generation of Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) called Ironwood, which are 30 times more energy-efficient than the 2018 version. Vahdat emphasized the importance of building a more reliable and scalable infrastructure while keeping costs and energy consumption in check.
