Gemini co-founders donated 3,221 ZEC to Shielded Labs, valued at $1.2 million, to boost Zcash network activity. The Winklevoss brothers previously supported Crosslink development in 2023. Funds will go toward NSM, Crosslink, and dynamic fees. Altcoins to watch may include ZEC as network upgrades progress.

BlockBeats news: On January 21, Shielded Labs, an independent core development team led by Zcash (ZEC) founder Zooko, announced that it had received a donation of 3,221 ZEC from Winklevoss brothers, the founders of the cryptocurrency platform Gemini. At current prices, this is approximately equivalent to $1.2 million. The funds will directly support Shielded Labs' core initiatives, including the Network Sustainability Mechanism (NSM), Crosslink, and dynamic fees, to enhance the security and scalability of the Zcash network.

Shielded Labs stated that this is the second time the Winklevoss brothers have donated to Shielded Labs. They first made a donation in 2023 to assemble a dedicated team focused on Crosslink.
