As reported by Bijié Wǎng, FP Block, an engineering firm with deep roots in the blockchain industry since the early 2010s, warns that the lack of standards is the biggest obstacle to Web3's scalability. According to COO Wesley Crook, many developers treat security as an afterthought, leading to vulnerabilities and frequent hacks. He compares the situation to past data breaches at companies like Equifax and Target, which stemmed from poor initial design. Crook emphasizes that most projects in Web3 are built by young developers without enterprise-level experience in architecture, auditing, or testing. He argues that the industry is building for ecosystems, not users, and that a 'WWW moment'—a standardization breakthrough—is needed for mass adoption. FP Block is preparing for this future by building enterprise-grade systems and recently partnered with Nat Gold to tokenize underground gold reserves.
