Citing Cryptonews, former Australian rugby league player Trent Merrin has been charged with stealing approximately $91,000 worth of cryptocurrency through deceptive means. Merrin, 36, was arrested at his home in Shellharbour after a year-long investigation by New South Wales Police. Authorities allege he gained unauthorized access to a victim’s crypto account and transferred the funds. Electronic devices from his home have been seized for forensic analysis. Merrin, who describes himself as a cryptocurrency enthusiast, is set to appear in court on December 3.
