Filecoin Onchain Cloud (FOC) has launched its mainnet, introducing on-chain infrastructure for programmable storage and payments tailored for AI agent systems. Since its testnet debut in November 2025, the platform has stored 49.41 TiB across 478 active datasets. Over 100 development teams have built on FOC, which features on-chain data proofs, automated node evaluation, and agent-native payments. The network also supports cross-chain compatibility and integrates with MoonPay’s Open Wallet Standard. Inflation remains stable as the network scales.

Mainnet launch key data

Filecoin Onchain Cloud (FOC) has officially launched on mainnet. It is a programmable storage and payment infrastructure built for the AI Agent era—data possession is verified through on-chain proofs, payments are automatically executed via smart contracts, and every action generates an auditable permanent record.

Since the testnet launch in November 2025, over 100 development teams have been building on FOC, spanning areas such as AI agents, decentralized frontends, computation workflows, and data indexing. At mainnet launch, the platform had accumulated 49.41 TiB of stored data and 478 active datasets.

AI agents require more than just storage space—they need a complete mechanism capable of autonomously handling storage, retrieval, and payments without human intervention. Filecoin Onchain Cloud provides a trusted infrastructure layer for such automated systems.

Why now?

AI is generating data at an unprecedented rate, but traditional cloud infrastructure faces fundamental challenges in four areas:

  • Lack of verifiable records for data operations—Agent logs, reasoning processes, and model outputs cannot be independently verified;
  • Automated systems struggle to complete payments independently—AI agents cannot use credit cards or centralized account systems;
  • Agent memory lacks persistence and cryptographic protection—state storage between sessions cannot be enforced;
  • The boundaries of data sovereignty are becoming blurred—regulatory requirements for data localization are growing stricter across countries.

FOC directly addresses the four issues above at the infrastructure level through on-chain proof and programmable payment mechanisms.

Mainnet Core Capabilities

Verifiable redundant storage: Automatically distributes each upload to two independent storage nodes and generates on-chain proof; the system automatically replaces and recopies nodes in case of anomalies, without requiring developer intervention.

Continuous Node Evaluation: Nodes are continuously evaluated via DealBot: storage success rate must be ≥ 95%, retrieval rate within 5 seconds must be ≥ 95%, and annual PDP failure rate must be < 1%. Nodes that fail to meet these criteria will be removed from the network.

On-chain Proof of Data (PDP) performs on-chain verification of stored data every 24 hours; payments are automatically suspended if verification fails. Developers can view proof status and node history in real time via the PDP browser.

Agent native payments enable AI agents to directly manage wallets and storage workflows via the Synapse SDK without human intervention, compatible with the ERC-8004 cross-agent interoperability standard.

Ecosystem Update: MoonPay releases Open Wallet Standard with native Filecoin support

Alongside the launch of the FOC mainnet, MoonPay introduced the Open Wallet Standard—a set of open-source specifications that provide a secure, universal way for AI agents to hold assets, sign transactions, and make payments without exposing private keys.

This standard was collaboratively developed by more than 15 organizations, including participants in the Filecoin ecosystem, with native support for Filecoin and compatibility with major chains such as EVM, Solana, and Bitcoin. This advancement further solidifies Filecoin’s position as the storage layer for the Agent economy.

Main application scenarios

AI agents and automated systems can autonomously handle storage and payments via SDK, with execution logs and inference records anchored on-chain for verification, and support cross-agent interoperability (ERC-8004).

The AI data pipeline fully records on-chain all steps of dataset integration, transformation, and model checkpoint management, enabling complete auditability and traceability of “what data, when, and by whom” was processed.

Decentralized applications and websites: User-generated content, application state, and frontend resources can be stored directly on decentralized networks, enabling data persistence and auditability. Filecoin Nova has been successfully deployed as a proof-of-concept project.

FOC Skills is now live: Bringing the full storage stack to endpoints and AI agents

Filecoin Onchain Cloud now supports access via CLI, MCP Server, and AI Skills, allowing developers to manage wallets, manipulate datasets, and schedule storage providers directly from their terminal or AI agent without switching toolchains.

Use the CLI to directly interact with FOC via the command line to manage wallets, upload datasets, and check storage status.

The MCP Server exposes FOC storage capacity as an MCP tool, callable by any AI system compatible with the MCP protocol.

AI Skills directly control the Synapse SDK through natural language commands, enabling the Agent to complete the entire storage and payment process without human intervention.

CloudPaws: An early entry point into the FOC ecosystem

With the launch of the FOC mainnet, the CloudPaws Builders of Week (BOW) has also been activated. Users can now directly access the participation channel via the official website to join the FOC ecosystem faster and apply for whitelist inclusion. For developers and ecosystem contributors looking to explore, build, or deeply engage with Filecoin Onchain Cloud, BOW is one of the fastest and most direct entry points available.

Looking further, CloudPaws is more than just an event or registration mechanism. As the identity icon layer of the Filecoin Network, it is establishing a recognizable and enduring identity for early builders, SPs, and ecosystem contributors. Who participated in building, who made contributions, and who is becoming part of this network will no longer be fleeting community actions, but will gradually solidify into visible, memorable, and sustainable identity and collaboration assets within the Filecoin Network.
