Derived from TechFlow, the Ethereum Foundation's account abstraction team has proposed the Ethereum Interop Layer (EIL) to unify Layer 2 networks as a single Ethereum chain. The solution, built on ERC-4337 and trustless declaration principles, allows users to execute cross-chain transactions with a single signature, eliminating the need for new trust assumptions or third-party bridges. Users can directly initiate and settle cross-L2 operations from their wallets, with EIL automatically handling routing and asset delivery. The team emphasized that EIL preserves Ethereum's core values of self-custody, censorship resistance, privacy, and verifiability by moving logic on-chain and into user wallets.
