According to PANews, at the ETHShanghai 2025 main forum, Ethereum Foundation co-executive director Hsiao-Wei Wang delivered a speech titled 'Ethereum's Mass Adoption: Bridging the Gaps.' She outlined three key aspects for Ethereum's mass adoption: self-sovereignty, global settlement capabilities, and daily utility. She also highlighted three major challenges—scalability and cost barriers, user experience gaps, and trust deficits. Ethereum's scalability strategy includes L1 and L2 solutions such as Dencun (EIP-4844), Pectra (Q1 2025), and Fusaka (Q4 2025). In user experience, Ethereum is advancing account abstraction through proposals like ERC-4337 and EIP-7701. Wang emphasized that Ethereum's ultimate goal is to become as invisible and reliable as the internet.
