In accordance with TechFlow, ENS has officially adopted the Taiko technology stack as the foundation for its dedicated ZK Rollup expansion solution, Namechain, on the Ethereum mainnet. Namechain will be deployed as a based rollup chain using Nethermind's Surge framework, which is built on Taiko's technology. This marks a significant endorsement of based rollup as a viable and stable scaling solution aligned with Ethereum's values. Taiko's stack has already processed over 50 million transactions since its mainnet launch in May 2024, with zero downtime and sub-second pre-confirmations in production. ENS Labs highlighted that this move allows them to skip unnecessary steps in the decentralization process and launch Namechain with maximum decentralization from day one. The collaboration also demonstrates that based rollup can deliver institutional-grade performance and security without compromising decentralization. Namechain is expected to enter public testing in Q2 2026 before mainnet launch.
