As per Coinpaper, Elon Musk has confirmed holding Dogecoin (DOGE) alongside Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH), but he does not own or operate the Dogecoin network. Dogecoin was created in 2013 by Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer as a joke project. Musk's public comments and social media activity, however, have repeatedly triggered significant price movements in DOGE. For example, in May 2021, DOGE surged before Musk's appearance on Saturday Night Live, and in 2023, a temporary change of the Twitter (now X) logo to the Shiba Inu dog caused another price spike. Despite these effects, Musk has clarified that his remarks should not be taken as investment advice, and his exact DOGE holdings remain undisclosed.
