Odaily Planet Daily News: DouBao, ByteDance’s AI assistant, has officially launched its Professional Edition. Built on the newly released DouBao 2.1 series models, the Professional Edition is designed for users requiring complex office and productivity workflows, offering higher usage limits and introducing, for the first time, an Office Task Mode capable of executing Agent tasks.
According to the introduction, after user authorization, the Office Task Mode can directly control the local computer and browser to assist with tasks such as document, spreadsheet, and data organization, and supports cross-app automation like scheduling and posting Weibo posts. This mode includes an integrated Office suite, enabling multi-round editing and collaboration on online documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. It also offers Skill packs for creative design, data visualization, and financial analysis, and allows users to customize their own skills.
In addition, Doubao Pro supports scheduled tasks to automatically generate daily reports and summary information. In application development scenarios, it also supports rapid deployment of online application systems with backend databases; related database features are currently in gray-scale testing.
Pricing: The Professional Standard plan is $68 per month with auto-renewal, providing access to the Doubao 2.1 Pro model and over 5x the quota for office tasks and expert mode compared to the free plan. The Enhanced plan is $200 per month with auto-renewal, offering 4x the quota of the Standard plan. The Premium plan is $500 per month with auto-renewal, providing 10x the quota of the Standard plan. Free users can still access the office tasks mode powered by the Doubao 2.1 Turbo model.
Meanwhile, ByteDance is offering exclusive discounts for university students: verified students can purchase the standard plan at a continuous monthly rate of 38 yuan, and will also provide an accessibility discount program for visually impaired users.
