CZ Urges Blockchain Browsers to Filter Spam Transactions to Prevent Address Poisoning Attacks

PANews, March 14: CZ posted on X that block explorers should directly filter out spam transactions rather than displaying them to users, to reduce the risk of address poisoning attacks. He noted that such transactions can be easily eliminated entirely from a technical standpoint, and some wallet applications have already implemented similar functionality—for example, Trust Wallet already filters out these spam transactions. CZ also mentioned that filtering spam transactions might slightly impact micropayments between AI agents in the future, but at that time, AI technology could similarly be used to identify and filter out spam transactions. Previously, Etherscan warned that address poisoning attacks on Ethereum are becoming more automated and widespread, with attackers typically tricking users into sending funds to fake addresses that closely resemble legitimate ones.
