On March 14, 2026, Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) urged blockchain explorers to filter spam transactions to mitigate address poisoning risks. He noted that Trust Wallet already employs this feature, and on-chain data indicates these attacks are increasing. CZ added that AI could assist in filtering spam without impacting microtransactions. Etherscan recently warned that address poisoning on Ethereum is becoming more automated. Traders are advised to monitor altcoins for similar developments.

BlockBeats news, on March 14, in response to the recent increase in Ethereum address poisoning attacks, CZ posted that block explorers should directly filter out such spam transactions rather than displaying them to users. He noted that these transactions can be easily completely filtered out technically, and the wallet app Trust Wallet has already implemented a similar feature.

CZ also noted that while filtering spam transactions may have some impact on micropayments between future AI agents, spam transaction detection and filtering can similarly be achieved through AI technology at that time.

Previously, the block explorer Etherscan warned that address poisoning attacks on Ethereum are becoming more automated and widespread, with attackers tricking users into sending funds to counterfeit addresses that resemble legitimate ones.
