Crossmint has obtained a MiCA license from Spain's CNMV, allowing it to provide stablecoin services compliant with regulations across the EU. The license includes fiat-to-crypto conversion, custodial services, and cross-chain transfers. Rodri Fernández Touza stated that the MiCA transition period, which ends in July, is pushing companies to seek compliant partners. Providers not compliant with MiCA risk being excluded from the market.

According to Cointelegraph, crypto payment infrastructure provider Crossmint has obtained a Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) license from Spain's National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), becoming a compliant crypto-asset service provider (CASP). This license allows Crossmint to offer stablecoin infrastructure services across all 27 European Union member states. The license covers three core CASP activities: two-way conversion between fiat and cryptocurrency, custodial services for client crypto assets, and cross-wallet and cross-blockchain transfer services. Crossmint co-founder Rodri Fernández Touza said that as the MiCA transition period ends in July, many remittance companies, payment platforms, and emerging banks are now requiring partners with MiCA licenses, and non-compliant providers may face the risk of being forced out of the market.
