Coinbase is testing AI agents modeled after former executives Fred Ehrsam and Balaji Srinivasan to improve workplace communication and employee feedback, as CEO Brian Armstrong announced on Saturday. The Fred agent will refine documents and strategies, while the Balaji agent will inspire innovation. These agents will appear in Slack and email like human colleagues. Engineers have found the agents helpful in clarifying visions. Employees will soon create additional AI agents, not necessarily digital twins. This move aligns with the latest AI + crypto and on-chain news developments. Coinbase’s AI infrastructure includes tools for predicting user traffic and managing resources. In February, the exchange launched smart wallets enabling AI systems to hold funds and execute transactions autonomously.

These autonomous AI agents complement Coinbase’s broader AI infrastructure, which includes machine learning tools designed to predict user traffic and automatically scale its resources.
