Coinbase launched Agentic Wallets on February 12, 2026, an AI agent wallet embedded in its custodial and compliance systems. Erik Reppel, Coinbase’s developer platform lead, said the wallet is not an SDK but a ready-to-use tool for AI agents. The wallet is not AI itself but can be controlled by AI agents, which will use it efficiently. The move comes amid rising AI + crypto news and follows recent security breach concerns in the sector.

BlockBeats news, on February 12, according to Decrypt, Coinbase has launched Agentic Wallets, positioning the product as a payment infrastructure directly integrated into Coinbase's existing custody and compliance system, rather than merely an agent framework.

Erik Reppel, Head of Engineering at the Coinbase Developer Platform, said in an interview: "This is not an SDK, nor is it a library—it is a wallet built specifically to enable AI agents to use it as quickly as possible. It is not AI itself, but users can hand it over to AI agents, and the AI agents will be very good at using it."
