Micro Bitcoin futures averaged 75,000 contracts per day, while Ether futures averaged 19,000 contracts per day, all reaching annual highs. The performance of CME's cryptocurrency products was even stronger in the fourth quarter of 2025, with an average daily trading volume of 379,000 contracts (worth $13.3 billion). Micro Ether futures saw a 164% year-over-year increase in trading volume. Additionally, the average daily trading volume for cryptocurrencies in December alone hit a record high of 339,000 contracts.
