Citing Bijié Wǎng, Chainlink has enhanced its operational security by meeting ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type 1 requirements. The network now supports traditional financial system integration by generating ISO 20022-compliant messages. ISO 20022 is an international standard for electronic data exchange between financial institutions, enabling efficient and reliable communication. Chainlink’s community liaison Zach Tynes clarified that while no cryptocurrency is ISO 20022-compliant, oracle platforms like Chainlink support ISO 20022 messaging. A pilot project with SWIFT and UBS in 2025 demonstrated seamless integration of traditional financial messaging with blockchain-based tokenized assets. The project, involving multiple institutions, successfully used large language models to extract structured data and publish it on-chain. In the second phase, Chainlink’s Runtime Environment and CCIP enabled real-time distribution of verified records across blockchain ecosystems. The third phase will expand support for complex corporate actions while maintaining ISO 20022 compliance and interoperability.
