According to CoinDesk, CFTC Chairman Mike Selig stated that the agency is "working to bring professional futures—true professional futures—to the U.S. within the next month or so," and added that "we expect to announce several policies soon." Selig noted that due to previous U.S. regulatory uncertainty, a significant amount of perpetual futures trading has moved overseas. Speaking alongside SEC Chairman Paul Atkins at the Milken Institute event in Washington, Selig revealed that both agencies are advancing the "Project Crypto" initiative, which includes providing "innovation exemptions" for crypto innovation and clarifying the regulatory approach for decentralized finance (DeFi) developers. Additionally, the CFTC will establish clear standards and guidance for prediction markets.
