Citing CoinEdition, CertiK has released its 2025 Skynet Digital Asset Treasuries (DAT) report, introducing a new framework to assess the security and compliance of corporate crypto holdings. Strategy Inc. (MSTR) achieved the highest Skynet Score of 91.8, ranking first due to its strong custodial practices, audits, and transparency. The report emphasizes a shift in corporate crypto management, where firms are now judged more by how securely they hold assets than what they hold. The report highlights a maturing market under increased regulatory and investor scrutiny. Public companies now collectively hold over $130 billion in digital assets. CertiK’s framework evaluates companies across five pillars: Custodian & Third-Party Diligence, Internal Controls & Operational Security, On-Chain Risk Exposure, Capital Strategy Resilience, and Regulatory & Disclosure Posture. Other top performers include MARA Holdings (MARA), Metaplanet Inc. (MTPLF), and Bitcoin Standard Treasury Company (BSTR). The report also notes emerging trends such as tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) and the potential use of CBDCs in treasury operations. With new regulations like the EU’s MiCA and the U.S. CLARITY Act, company valuations now depend on the strength of their security and compliance practices.
