Ethereum news broke as BTSE COO Jeff Mei weighed in on how Fed policy might affect Bitcoin and Ethereum prices by 2026. Mei told AiCoin that if rates stay unchanged in Q1 2026, Bitcoin could fall to $70,000 and Ethereum to $2,400. The Fed ended QT in December and now buys $40 billion in short-term Treasuries monthly. This “shadow QE” could boost risk assets if extended through early 2026. Mei also sees upside if Bitcoin hits $92,000–$98,000 with Ethereum reaching $3,600, helped by Layer-2 upgrades and DeFi growth. Over $5 billion in ETF inflows and institutional buying could lift the market. Fear and greed index data may also influence investor behavior ahead of key Fed decisions.
