BRICS Nations Drive Global Food Security Shift

Derived from Bijiie, BRICS nations are reshaping global food security by controlling 42% of global food production and 33% of arable land. The group, which produces nearly half of the world's food, is establishing a food exchange to promote direct trade in local currencies and reduce reliance on Western commodity markets. Brazil exports over $165 billion in agricultural products annually, while Russia is the world's largest wheat exporter. The 2025-2028 BRICS action plan focuses on strengthening family farming and regional food reserves to stabilize prices and ensure food security for 99.1 million people facing severe food shortages.
