Bitcoin breaking news: Blockstream has updated its Green app to enable trustless atomic swaps between Bitcoin’s Lightning and Liquid networks. Users can now pay Lightning invoices directly from Liquid bitcoin (LBTC) balances, removing the need to manage Lightning channels. Lightning offers fast, low-fee payments, while Liquid supports confidential transactions and easier UTXO management. The swap process is self-custodial and uses cryptographic hash locks to ensure completion or automatic return of funds. Blockstream plans to add on-chain swaps and hardware wallet support for Lightning payments in future updates.
