Bitcoin price prediction from Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan suggests the asset could follow gold's 2025 parabolic trajectory. Hougan cited ChainCatcher, noting ETFs have absorbed over 100% of new Bitcoin supply since January 2024. He compared this to gold, which rose 65% in 2025 after central banks increased buying in 2022. Bitcoin's price could surge when selling pressure eases.

According to a ChainCatcher report, Matt Hougan, Chief Investment Officer of Bitwise, posted on X that the price of Bitcoin could retrace the trajectory of gold in 2025, as ETFs continue to absorb all newly issued supply. He noted that after central banks doubled their gold purchases in 2022, the price initially reacted slowly, but surged by 65% in 2025 once selling pressure was exhausted. Currently, Bitcoin ETFs, since their launch in January 2024, have consistently purchased more than 100% of the newly mined supply. If this demand continues, a significant price surge could occur in the long term once the supply from sellers is depleted.
