As per 36 Crypto, BitGo recently experienced a technical malfunction in its automation system, which led to over 11,000 failed XRP transactions in a single day. The issue occurred when one of BitGo’s accounts ran out of funds, yet the automation continued to attempt new account creations, each requiring a 1 XRP reserve fee. The failed transactions clogged the XRP Ledger’s mempool with 'UNFUNDED PAYMENT' entries, causing network congestion. BitGo resolved the issue by adding 1,048 XRP to the affected wallet, restoring balance and halting further disruptions. Despite the incident, the XRP Ledger hit a milestone of 100 million ledgers, highlighting its long-term stability and decentralized consensus.
