Odaily Planet Daily report: In April this year, Bitcoin developer Paul Sztorc announced that he would activate the Bitcoin eCash hard fork at block height 963648 (approximately August 21), launching a new chain named eCash. At the same time, eCash will airdrop ECX tokens on a 1:1 basis to all Bitcoin-held addresses prior to block height 963648, without requiring registration or pre-claiming—provided users transfer their BTC to an eCash self-custody wallet. To date, support for this hard fork within the Bitcoin community remains low.
Notably, Bitcoin will also undergo the BIP-110 soft fork in August, with BIP-110 entering the enforcement phase at block height 961,632 (approximately August 7) and officially activating at block height 963,648 (approximately September 1).
