As per PANews, a hacker exploited the Permit authorization to transfer 195 stS (valued at approximately $3 million) from a frozen address to a new address. The hacker used the permit() function to bypass the freeze, which was applied at the native chain level and only affected S tokens, not other ERC20 tokens like stS. The stolen stS was later exchanged for WBTC/ETH.
