According to Forklog, Baidu announced the latest version of its flagship AI model, Ernie 5.0, at its annual technology conference in Beijing. The model is described as an 'omnimodal native' neural network capable of understanding user commands across multiple media formats. Baidu's founder Robin Li emphasized the importance of technological iteration and warned about the 'unhealthy and unsustainable' structure of the AI market, where chip manufacturers benefit more than application developers. In parallel, Alibaba is preparing to update its AI-powered mobile app, Tongyi, to resemble ChatGPT and expand its global reach. The company also plans to enhance consumer services under the Qwen brand.
