ChainThink reports that, on March 17, according to CriptoNoticias, the Buenos Aires court in Argentina ordered a complete block of the prediction market platform Polymarket on March 16, 2026, to be enforced by the national communications regulator ENACOM, and required Google and Apple to remove its app from local app stores.
The restriction stems from a complaint by the Buenos Aires Lottery Agency (LOTBA), which determined that Polymarket is operating an unauthorized online gambling business under the guise of a prediction market, without requiring identity or age verification, posing significant risks to users. Argentina has thus become the second country in Latin America, after Colombia, to impose a full restriction on the platform.
