According to CriptoNoticias, on March 16, 2026, a court in Buenos Aires, Argentina, ordered a complete block of the prediction market platform Polymarket, to be enforced by the national communications regulator ENACOM, and required Google and Apple to remove its app from local app stores. The block follows a complaint by the Buenos Aires Lottery Office (LOTBA), which determined that Polymarket operates an unauthorized online gambling business under the guise of a "prediction market," and that the platform lacks identity and age verification, posing significant risks to users. Argentina has thus become the second country in Latin America, after Colombia, to impose a full restriction on the platform.

The decision followed accusations by the Buenos Aires Lottery Office (LOTBA) that the platform was operating unlicensed online gambling without proper identity verification or age checks. Argentina now joins Colombia in restricting Polymarket.
