ME News reports that on April 11 (UTC+8), Cai Haoyu, founder of miHoYo, unveiled LPM 1.0, a large model for video character performance, developed by his AI company Anuttacon. LPM 1.0 supports real-time full-duplex audiovisual dialogue, enabling simultaneous speaking, singing, listening, and emotional responses, with high-fidelity synchronization of lip movements, micro-expressions, and body rhythm. Technically, LPM 1.0 is built on a 17B-parameter base model and distilled into a low-latency streaming online version, supporting identity-consistent generation of any duration. It is compatible with diverse character styles—including photorealistic, 2D anime, 3D game, and non-humanoid entities—without requiring fine-tuning. The team also introduced LPM-Bench, a benchmark for evaluating character performance, achieving SOTA results across multiple metrics. Unlike Kling-Avatar 2.0 and OmniHuman 1.5, which are limited to 30-second outputs, LPM 1.0 supports unlimited-length generation, targeting applications such as conversational agents, game NPCs, and virtual livestreaming. Notably, Anuttacon explicitly stated that this release is solely for academic exchange and has no current plans to open-source the model or provide APIs, demos, or commercial products; industry observers widely believe the primary intent of this public release is to attract AI talent. LPM 1.0 represents Anuttacon’s latest advancement in the AI gaming engine and intelligent NPC space, and another milestone in Cai Haoyu’s progressive deepening of expertise—from AI tool development at miHoYo and the AnuNeko chat product to foundational model capabilities.
