According to the official announcement from the FCA, Anthropic will provide access to its Claude series of products (including Claude Code and Claude Cowork) to the second cohort of participants in the FCA’s “Super Sandbox” to accelerate their AI development. A total of 21 institutions have been selected for the second cohort, including Scottish Widows, Money Advice Trust, and TrueLayer. This round saw a 51% increase in applications compared to the first cohort, with 199 applications received overall. Participating firms will test AI solutions in the following areas: agent-based payment security, fraud and financial crime detection, AI governance and accountability, financial inclusion for vulnerable populations, and compliance and business automation. In addition, the FCA has launched the “Agentic Academy”—a 10-week specialized AI training program jointly hosted by the FCA and the Centre for Finance, Technology and Entrepreneurship (CFTE). Participating firms will continue to benefit from NayaOne’s digital sandbox infrastructure and NVIDIA accelerated computing resources.
