Anthropic Faces Class Action Over Max Subscription Usage Discrepancy
KuCoinFlashShare
On June 15, consumer Karl Kahn filed a class action lawsuit against Anthropic in the Northern District of California. The complaint alleges that the AI company misrepresented the usage limits for its Max 5x and Max 20x plans, priced at $100 and $200 per month, respectively. On-chain data indicates users consistently hit usage caps well below the advertised thresholds. Kahn, who upgraded to the Max 20x plan in April, states he frequently exceeded weekly limits, including one 5-hour session that consumed 15% of his monthly allowance. The lawsuit seeks refunds and compensation. The Fear and Greed Index for AI tools remains volatile as users demand greater accountability.
