AIMPACT Update, May 20 (UTC+8): According to monitoring by Beating, the primary users of future model service platforms are no longer humans, but agents themselves. Today, Alibaba Cloud unveiled at its summit the first AI product website, "Qianwen AI" (www.qianwenai.com), built exclusively for agents, offering API access to over 150 mainstream models. The site’s most significant overhaul lies in fully transforming its model service pipeline into Skill-based, MCP (Model Context Protocol)-enabled, and CLI-compatible interfaces, enabling agents to directly “understand” and autonomously invoke all capabilities with a single command. Unlike traditional consoles designed for human interaction, Qianwen AI completely eliminates the cumbersome processes of humans reading documentation, manually writing integration code, and debugging API parameters. The reason is simple: conventional model interfaces were designed for human clicks and manual integration, whereas agents require highly agile, transient invocations. Through this new architectural redesign, agents such as OpenClaw, Hermes Agent, and Claude Code can autonomously “learn” all core functions of the site with just a simple instruction. Technically, Qianwen AI Skills encapsulate the full lifecycle of model selection, invocation, authentication, and usage monitoring. Under this architecture, agents can dynamically route tasks based on specific needs: automatically invoking vision models for images, switching to generative models for illustrations, and enabling automated orchestration across multiple models. Meanwhile, the Qianwen AI CLI client tool fully supports authentication, status queries, and environment diagnostics, allowing agents to automate entire workflows via command-line or scripting in the background. Both core toolkits are now open-sourced on GitHub. Beyond systemic interface reengineering, Qianwen AI enables agents to deeply engage in backend cost management. Agents can pull real-time usage data for high-frequency calls, analyze spending trends, detect anomalies, and autonomously generate cost-optimization recommendations for users. To address emerging usage patterns such as high-frequency AI programming and multi-agent collaboration, Qianwen AI has introduced a Token Plan subscription model alongside conventional pay-as-you-go billing—specifically designed to significantly reduce token consumption costs in agent-centric scenarios.
