Based on Chainwire, the Algorand Foundation and Pera Wallet have launched a decentralized passkey manager using Liquid Auth technology. This new tool allows users to store and manage login credentials directly in their crypto wallets, replacing the need for centralized authenticator apps. Liquid Auth, introduced in 2024, enables secure and private access to websites using a user's Web3 wallet instead of email and password combinations. The service is currently available to Pera Wallet users and is open-source, allowing integration across other blockchains. Pera Wallet's Head of Engineering emphasized that Liquid Auth ensures passkeys remain private and locally stored, protected by the user's private keys. The feature is free to use and available on Android and iOS.
