Previously, in October 2025, Ellison was transferred from a Connecticut prison to a home confinement program.
On December 20, 2025, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) issued a notice of litigation stating that former CEO Sam Bankman-Fried, who is still serving a federal prison sentence for fraud, and former Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison and other executives have agreed to a settlement, which still requires court approval.
