ChainThink reports that on March 11, according to Bloomberg, AI infrastructure startup Nexthop AI raised $500 million in a funding round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, as part of the current wave of investments aimed at expanding AI computing capabilities.
The company, which provides network hardware and software for AI data centers, has reached a $4.2 billion valuation following this funding round, with Andreessen Horowitz participating alongside all existing investors, including Altimeter Capital and Kleiner Perkins.
Nexthop was founded in 2024 by Anshul Sadana, former Chief Operating Officer of Arista Networks Inc. The company is developing networking systems for connections within and between data centers. Sadana states that the technology aims to handle more network traffic with lower power consumption and reduced latency. Nexthop is currently collaborating with major data center operators to develop these networking systems, better meeting their needs.
