Aave, MetaMask, and Mastercard have launched a new debit card for token launch announcements, enabling users to spend yield-generating assets such as mUSD, USDC, wETH, and USDT. The card leverages Linea Layer 2 to convert assets to fiat at the point of purchase, while the remaining balance continues earning interest on Aave. Available in Europe, the product supports real-world assets (RWA) by connecting cryptocurrency with everyday spending.

Odaily Planet Daily reports that, according to official announcements, Aave, MetaMask, and Mastercard are collaborating to advance the MetaMask debit card feature, enabling users to directly use their interest-bearing assets—such as mUSD, USDC, wETH, and USDT—from Aave for everyday spending.

This debit card is powered by instant settlement through Linea, Consensys’s Ethereum Layer 2 network. After users deposit mUSD into Aave to receive receipt tokens, the card automatically converts the required amount of interest-bearing assets into fiat currency at the moment of purchase. Throughout this process, the user’s remaining unused balance continues earning interest via Aave up until the precise moment of spending, enabling instant spending of interest-bearing assets while maintaining continuous yield. The debit card is currently available in Europe.
