a16z Raises Over $15 Billion for AI and Crypto-Focused Investments

Ben Horowitz, co-founder of the venture capital giant Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), announced that the firm has just completed fundraising of over $15 billion, accounting for 18% of the total U.S. venture capital funding in 2025. The new fund includes the U.S. Power Fund ($1.176 billion), the Applied Fund ($1.7 billion), the Bio and Health Fund ($700 million), the Infrastructure Fund ($1.7 billion), the Growth Fund ($6.75 billion), and other venture capital strategies ($3 billion). Horowitz emphasized that a16z's mission is to ensure that the United States wins in the technological competition over the next 100 years, especially in the two key technological architectures of artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency. The company will focus on investing in these areas and applying these technologies across multiple industries, including biology, health, defense, public safety, education, and entertainment. He warned that if the U.S. loses its global leadership in technologies such as AI and crypto, it will have a cascading impact on its economic, military, and cultural advantages.
