BlockBeats report, February 12: Arkham officially released the report "Who Owns the Most Ethereum? Top ETH Holders 2026," listing the ranking of the largest ETH holding addresses in the current market.
Statistics show that over 60% of the total ETH supply is held in the ETH2 beacon deposit contract (77,186,906 ETH, valued at approximately $241.39 billion, accounting for 63.23% of the supply).
The largest individual holder is Rain Lohmus, who holds 250,000 ETH (valued at approximately $786 million) but is unable to access it due to lost private keys.
The largest accessible individual holder is Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin, who currently holds 240,000 ETH, worth approximately $754 million. Other data is shown in the chart.
BlockBeats Note: Rain Lohmus is one of the founders of LHV Group (LHV Pank/LHV Bank), Estonia’s leading financial group. In 2014, during the Ethereum ICO, he spent approximately $75,000 to purchase 250,000 ETH (at a price of $0.30 per ETH at the time). These ETH have never been moved and are fully visible on the blockchain. However, due to Rain Lohmus losing his private key, the assets are completely inaccessible.
In 2023, he publicly acknowledged the matter on Estonia’s national radio, stating, “Anyone can calculate its value themselves,” and added that he would be willing to share part of the assets if someone could provide a reliable recovery method. By 2025–2026, as the price of ETH surged significantly, the value of this 250,000 ETH holding once exceeded $1.2 billion.
