I rarely use Google search to begin with, but now, because it’s so aggressive in blocking bots, I, as a real user, am frequently asked to complete CAPTCHAs. Among the few situations where I do use it, typing directly into the browser’s search bar is the most convenient. But if even that requires a CAPTCHA, I genuinely can’t imagine when I’d ever use Google search again. Because so many bots are using it, Google has tightened its defenses—but the more it tries to block bots, the worse the experience becomes for real users, creating a vicious cycle.
