I retired three years ago, I just turned 36. Most of my relatives are extremely jealous of me. I come from a large and somewhat conservative, typical Indian background. They think I am stupid for giving up the best years of my life to do nothing, but I simply got out of the rat race and the never-ending greed machine. Indian families often suffer from greed; their whole lives are spent earning and accumulating wealth just to pass it down to their kids, and the cycle never stops. Thanks to Gen Z (though I am not Gen Z myself) for breaking this cycle, choosing mental peace and happiness, and getting their priorities straight. Most Indian families think money is essential, and I get it, but everything should have a limit. Choosing your own happiness should be the utmost priority.
