can you scream your own name inside your head? try it but scream as loud as you can now do the opposite, whisper your name very quietly inside your head did you notice? you can change the volume of a voice that no one is hearing now imagine you are entering the sea on an extremely hot day, the sun is beating on your face the freezing water is touching your skin you can almost feel it, cant you? now finally imagine yourself grabbing a handful of sand with your bare hands, the texture, the sensation of the grains of the sand slipping between your fingers, did you feel it? all of this without touching a thing you just heard a voice that made no sound, you felt water that did not touch your skin and you imagine sand that was never in your hands and all of this happened inside your head NOW imagine what your mind does when instead of an ocean, it creates a catastrophe, a rejection that never happened, a failure that doesnt even exist yet and you begin to suffer for something that only exists in your imagination you think you are going to fail, you feel afraid, you give up before trying and then you use that as proof that you werent capable this is called cognitive fusion, its where you confuse your thoughts with reality ityself BUT THERE IS ONE THING YOU SHOULD UNDERSTAND thoughts are not sentences, you are not everything your mind tells you that you are, a thought of failure does not make you a failure and a thought of fear does not mean you are in danger the reprogramming of the mind is difficult the voice inside your head doesnt have to be the one in charge of your life, you can learn to observe it without automatically obeying everything it says and this is where true mental reprogramming begins
