I bought zero Bitcoin in October, and I’m actually glad I didn’t. Instead, I booked my Christmas flights, replaced my 2015 MacBook Pro with a refurbished M2 Pro so I can build apps without constantly thinking about RAM, and finally retired my iPhone 13 mini with 75% battery health. The replacement is a refurbished orange 17 Pro Max. Sorry, not sorry. Charging my phone three or four times a day had stopped being charming. So yes, my sats didn’t go up this month. But my day-to-day life got materially better, and that’s what money is ultimately for. I’ve also paused my DCA until I find a proper way of buying non-KYC Bitcoin. There’s a slightly uncomfortable part of me that knows these are often exactly the periods when you don’t feel particularly compelled to buy, and those can turn out to be the moments when you should. Then again, I was accumulating like a maniac around $60k, so I’m not losing sleep over one month. Bitcoin is savings. It isn’t a competition to die with the highest score.
