My first real BTC DeFi test Been testing @ZestProtocol today and this was my first real hands on experience with Bitcoin DeFi. I deposited 0.0004 BTC and created my own Bitcoin Collateral Vault through Xverse. What clicked for me is the idea of keeping BTC on Bitcoin L1 while using it as collateral for USDC liquidity on Ethereum. The flow felt simple: > Connect Xverse + Ethereum wallet Create the vault Deposit BTC Activate The part I didn’t expect? I lost around $5 in gas fees during the process. Not a dealbreaker, but definitely something I noticed when the deposit itself was only around $35. Still, seeing the vault go live made the concept much easier to understand than reading about it. Now I’m exploring the borrowing side and seeing how useful native BTC collateral can actually be in practice.
