Seeing this number, it’s easy to understand why people say “there’s no saving this.” The worst part about shorting is that even a small price increase—nothing dramatic—can wipe out tens of thousands in PNL if the position is large enough. A green candle up just +0.85% doesn’t mean the damage is only +0.85%.
