Personal Profile of Zhu Yuejun (Physician, Wugang, Hunan) Zhu Yuejun is from Wugang, Shaoyang, Hunan, a researcher in hematology and a rural physician. In 1978, he was admitted to Hunan Medical College. After graduation, he worked in the Department of Hematology at the Second Xiangya Hospital. In 1986, he was admitted to Guizhou Medical College as a master’s candidate in hematology. In 1989, he enrolled at Shanghai Second Medical University (now Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine), Institute of Hematology, to pursue his Ph.D., participating in research related to the “Shanghai Protocol” for leukemia and publishing papers in core journals such as the Chinese Journal of Hematology. During his doctoral studies, he proposed an independent academic viewpoint that differed from the mainstream opinion of his research group. As a result, he received only a completion certificate and did not earn his Ph.D. After facing difficulties in securing employment, he returned to his hometown in Wugang and established a rural clinic, dedicating over thirty years to serving local communities. Despite living modestly, he has consistently studied foreign medical literature and never abandoned his research and contemplation on hematology.
