one thing I’ve been exploring on @baysemarkets is just how many different markets you can actually trade. if you’re new to prediction markets, the concept is pretty simple: you’re given a question about a future outcome, and you choose YES or NO based on what you think will happen. for example: ⤵️ • Will Bitcoin be above a certain price in the next hour? • Will a team win a particular match? • Will an asset reach a specific price? • Will a particular event happen before a given deadline? the interesting part is that you’re not simply buying an asset and waiting for it to go up. you’re taking a position on an outcome. if your prediction is correct when the market resolves, your shares can pay out. you can also sell your position before resolution if the market is still open. and because share prices move with market activity, the price you enter at matters. i.e., if you invest ₦15,000 in YES shares at ₦40 each, you get 375 shares. if the market eventually resolves YES, those shares pay ₦100 each, giving you ₦37,500. but if the prediction is wrong, the shares pay ₦0, meaning you lose the ₦15,000 invested. that’s where research, timing and risk management come into play.
