He got a call from a friend who was drunk and said he couldn’t take it anymore... He had been working on government construction projects for over a decade—before the pandemic, things were going great, and he took on many more projects afterward. But starting in 2021, payments began to be delayed and never settled on time. By 2024, they stopped paying altogether—still acknowledging the debts, but claiming they had no money. This year, they wouldn’t even let him through the door. His design team disbanded, his construction crews left, his family broke up and his wife and children moved away—only the accountant remains at the company, clinging to hope that the accounts might still be recovered. I had previously advised him to cut his losses and get out while things were still thriving, but back then he wouldn’t listen. Now, any further advice is pointless. The harder he tries now, the more he loses. Holding on to what he still has is more important than anything else.
